My musical upbringing revolved around rock and roll for a long time. Guitar Gods like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Brian "Buckethead" Carroll were the centerpiece in my musical listening for a couple years before I started branching off and learning about other genres. Buckethead's music had a lasting imprint on me, with songs ranging from shredding rock tunes to beautiful atmospheric pieces, it showed me at a young age that a musician can follow whatever sonic direction their hearts desire at the time. The ambient nature of his album Colma was also a huge inspiration when creating the first Hølborn songs.
